What is e-secretary ?
e-secretary is an online application provided by SSM for registration to act as a secretary which is a requirement under section 241 of the Companies Act 2016.
Upon approval of the application, practising certificate will be issued by SSM and particulars of the approved applicant will be entered in the Register of Secretaries.
The system is accessible via esecretary.ssm.com.my for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
Who can use e-secretary ?
A qualified person to act as secretary under section 235(2) of the Companies Act 2016;
A member of an approved body as stated in the Fourth Schedule of the CA2016; or
A person licensed by the Commission under section 20G of the Companies Commission of Malaysia Act 2001.
A natural person aged 18 years and above.
A Malaysian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Malaysia.

How much is the fees?
RM100.00 for a period of 12 months.
What is the mode of payment ?
Credit card and FPX (Financial Process Exchange - Online banking)
Status & Download
User will receive email notification regarding the application status.
Once the application for registration has been approved, a notification will be issued to user and the practising certificate can be downloaded by login to esecretary.ssm.com.my.
The validity period of a practising certificate shall be for a period of 12 months from the date of the issuance.
How to reply/ answer query ?
User must response to the query through e-secretary Portal within 14 days from the date of the query.
System will reject the application if no respond is received after 14 days and the application fee will not be refunded by SSM.
